Shlonsky, partner-in-charge of the firm’s Cleveland office, has been named president of the Board of Trustees for the Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL). Shlonsky is serving a seven-year term on the board and previously served as board president from 2018 to 2020. In this role, she works with fellow trustees and library leadership to provide governance oversight and strategic direction for one of the nation’s largest public library systems.

“Books and libraries have played an important role in my life, and I have seen firsthand how access to information and literacy can open doors for individuals and communities,” Shlonsky said. “The Cuyahoga County Public Library continues to be a vital resource for residents of all ages, and I am honored to continue working to support its mission and future growth.”

An avid reader, Shlonsky has a lifelong passion for books and literacy. She is the editor of FromBriefsToBooks.com, a book review blog that reflects her enthusiasm for reading and thoughtful discussion of literature across genres. Shlonsky is a trustee of United for Libraries and a former board member of the Cuyahoga County Public Library Foundation.

In her legal practice, Shlonsky focuses on employee benefits and executive compensation, advising employers on compliance, mergers and acquisitions, HIPAA privacy and data security, and ERISA litigation. She is widely recognized for her work in employee benefits law and for her deep commitment to community and professional organizations.

The CCPL system serves nearly 600,000 residents through an extensive network of branches and digital resources across Cuyahoga County.
