Firm continues strategic growth following merger with key lateral rehire

UB Greensfelder LLP (UBG) is pleased to announce the return of seasoned trial attorney Christopher A. Pickett to its Business Litigation Practice in St. Louis. With a career spanning more than two decades, including his most recent in-house counsel role at Amazon, Pickett brings a sophisticated practice in complex business litigation and employee mobility law to the firm.

Pickett rejoins the firm following three years as Senior Corporate Counsel at Amazon, where he provided strategic legal guidance on employment mobility issues across international markets. His work included advising on senior executive transitions, developing onboarding and offboarding best practices, and protecting proprietary business interests.

“After gaining significant in-house experience focused on employee mobility law, I was ready to return to private practice to serve clients,” said Pickett. “The recent merger significantly expanded the firm’s capabilities, particularly in litigation, which made rejoining the firm an even easier decision. I’m excited to be part of a team that is growing and clearly committed to collaboration and client service.”

Pickett is widely recognized for his prior work in the financial services industry as well as his successful litigation practice. He has represented national and regional companies in high-stakes disputes involving non-compete agreements, trade secret misappropriation, and fiduciary duty claims, successfully leading litigation efforts in courts and arbitration panels across the United States.

During his previous decade-long stint with legacy firm, Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, Pickett also served as Chief Diversity Officer, leading initiatives to foster a more inclusive and equitable workplace, and he remains a passionate advocate for inclusivity in the legal profession.

“We are thrilled to welcome Chris back to the firm,” said UB Greensfelder’s Co-Managing Partner Kevin T. McLaughlin. “During his prior years the firm, he made a lasting impact through his outstanding legal work and as our inaugural diversity leader. He now returns bringing additional depth in employee mobility law and strengthening our capabilities in this critical area.”

Pickett is actively engaged in civic leadership, currently serving on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Neighborhood Business and holding board roles with Discovery School and Arch City Defenders. A graduate of Leadership St. Louis, he has been recognized with numerous honors, including the Law Firm Leader Award and the Diversity & Inclusion Award from Missouri Lawyers Media.

“We are truly fortunate to have an attorney of Chris’ caliber. His return is a testament to the success of our merger and an example of the level of interest we have experienced,” added UB Greensfelder’s Co-Managing Partner Scott P. Kadish. “His dedication to the legal profession and broader community enhances the firm’s culture and the service we deliver to our clients.”
