Lori Pittman Haas

UB Greensfelder LLP is pleased to announce that three attorneys – Lori Pittman Haas, Amanda Martinsek, and Patty Shlonsky – have been recognized by Crain’s Cleveland Business among its 2024 Notable Women in Law. Honorees were selected based on the impact of the types of cases handled, their service as a role model or mentor to other attorneys, their promotion of inclusive workplace practices, and leadership roles in professional or community organizations. 

Lori Haas is a Partner in and Co-Group Leader of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. She represents commercial real estate clients in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, and development of commercial properties. Her leasing practice includes the representation of both landlords and tenants for retail, offices, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities with a mix of space leases and ground leases. Over the course of her career, Haas has handled transactions for some of Cleveland’s most recognizable properties, including Playhouse Square and Terminal Tower, many of which have brought new life to downtown Cleveland through the historic tax credit program.

Amanda Martinsek is a Partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. She is a nationally recognized litigator with nearly 30 years of experience managing complex cases, including class actions, shareholder derivative claims, product liability suits, and other commercial disputes. Representing both public and private clients, Martinsek has handled several high-profile and precedent-setting cases, including serving as lead counsel for Plain Local School District in a successful challenge to the constitutionality of a controversial state law that allowed residents of certain Ohio communities to more easily change their assigned school district despite the risk of racial segregation among affected students.

Patty Shlonsky is a Partner in the firm’s Employee Benefits Practice Group. She has over 30 years of experience helping clients establish, qualify, and maintain all types of employee benefit plans. She regularly advises clients regarding employee benefit compliance issues, benefits issues that arise in mergers and acquisitions, privacy and data security issues under HIPAA, health benefits, and executive compensation. She also represents clients involved in governmental and private dispute resolution. Shlonsky was the first woman to serve as the firm’s Cleveland Partner-in-Charge, and she continues to serve on the firm’s Governing Board.
