Portrait of Lori Pittman Haas

November 15, 2023 – Ulmer & Berne LLP is pleased to share that Lori Pittman Haas, Partner and Group Leader of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, has been named the 2023 Bob Rosewater Memorial Award honoree by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA). The Bob Rosewater Memorial Award is presented annually to one deserving recipient in recognition of meritorious service to The Real Estate Section of the CMBA. Haas was honored during CMBA’s annual Real Estate Law Institute conference on November 2.

“We are thrilled to see Lori receive this prestigious honor, which recognizes that she is truly a leader in her field and her community” said Patricia A. Shlonsky, Ulmer’s Cleveland Partner-in-Charge. “She has proven her commitment and dedication to the firm and the local real estate industry through her tireless efforts to put her clients first, mentor her team members, and share her knowledge freely with her fellow attorneys. We’re grateful to the CMBA for recognizing her outstanding achievements.”

The Bob Rosewater Memorial Award recognizes attorneys who have a track record of long-term commitment and service to the Real Estate Section as well as to the CMBA and its other sections; who are a recognized leader and expert in her/his field; who have achieved extra-ordinary accomplishments; and who routinely complete community service related to real estate interests as well as general community service.

In her practice, Haas represents commercial real estate clients in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, and development of commercial properties. Her clients range from national retailers whose businesses involve the use of hazardous materials, to commercial real estate clients with various business interests such as grocery stores, hardware stores, restaurants, hotels, oil change facilities, manufacturing, warehouses, trucking terminals, and the ownership and management of office buildings and mixed-use projects. Haas also has a robust leasing practice (both representing landlords and tenants) for retail, office, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities with a mix of space leases and ground leases.

Outside of her practice, Haas dedicates her time to Cleveland’s real estate legal industry. She has been a longstanding member of the Planning Committee for the CMBA Real Estate Law Institute (RELI), and regularly participates in RELI’s annual case law update, spending countless hours reading cases for the benefit of all real estate attorneys in Cleveland. She is also involved in Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW)’s Cleveland Chapter as a member and Past President. Over the course of her career, Haas has handled transactions for many of Cleveland’s most recognizable properties, including Playhouse Square and Terminal Tower, many of which have brought new life to downtown through the historic tax credit program.

Haas is routinely recognized for her legal skills, having been ranked as one of Ohio’s “Leaders in Their Field” in Real Estate by Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (2019-2023), named to The Best Lawyers in America, Real Estate Law (2012-2024), named to the Ohio Super Lawyers list (2014-2023), named to Cleveland’s Top 25 Women Lawyers (2021) and Ohio’s Top 50 Women Lawyers (2021) by Super Lawyers, and named to the Commercial Real Estate Hall of Fame by Midwest Real Estate News (2019).
