UB Greensfelder LLP is pleased to announce that Associate Michael P. Benson has been recognized as a 2024 honoree in Missouri Lawyers Media’s Up & Coming Awards. The annual awards celebrate young attorneys who are making a positive difference in the practice of law in Missouri and whose outstanding contributions have them on the track for success. The Up & Coming honorees include legal professionals who are 40 or younger or within their first 10 years of practice. The awards were presented during an evening ceremony held on October 10, 2024.
“We are pleased to see Mike being recognized for the exceptional contributions he has already made and the promising future he has ahead in the legal industry,” said Jennifer L. Therrien, Co-Group Leader of UB Greensfelder’s Construction Practice. “We look forward to watching his star continue to rise.”
In his legal practice, Benson represents construction clients in litigation, mediation, and arbitration, contract negotiation, mechanic’s liens, and other matters. He regularly provides daily client counseling to resolve disputes on projects as well as assisting with contract drafting, reviewing bid packages, contract documents, and change orders, and determining compliance with mechanic’s lien filings.
Benson is actively engaged in his community and a supporter of conservation efforts. He is particularly interested in contributing to the beautification of the City of St. Louis and its parks and is a landscape and cleanup volunteer at the Gateway Arch, the Great Rivers Greenway, and Tower Grove Park. Additionally, Benson has been involved as a young friend of Forest Park Forever, a private, nonprofit conservancy that partners with the City of St. Louis to restore, maintain, and sustain Forest Park. He has also been a supporter of Epworth Children and Family Services, a nonprofit, multiservice agency that empowers youth who have experienced trauma to realize their unique potential by meeting essential needs, cultivating resiliency, and building community.
