• Defended an insurance company in coverage disputes connected to abuse allegations, navigating issues related to allegedly lost policies.
• Defended an insurance carrier in direct actions filed by a state attorney general regarding alleged theft by local government officials.
• Provided numerous coverage opinions to insurers regarding claims related to alleged environmental pollution, public/private nuisance, and defective consumer products and prescription medications.

Coordinating/Monitoring Counsel

• Served as national coordinating counsel for coverage cases involving alleged “forever chemicals.”
• Served as monitoring counsel for coordinated state court proceedings involving injuries allegedly caused by exposure to formaldehyde.
• Served as monitoring counsel for cases in state and federal courts involving alleged exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Product Liability

• Defended manufacturers in a wide variety of cases involving medical devices, Rx/OTC pharmaceutical products, including antidepressants, cancer medications, cardiac drugs, and dietary supplements.
• Obtained summary judgment on behalf of a defendant in an alleged manufacturing defect case in federal district court, including drafting all briefings and conducting oral argument.
• Successfully excluded plaintiffs’ expert witnesses and obtained summary judgment in alleged failure-to-warn cases.
• Obtained summary judgment in an alleged product liability wrongful death case in California state court.
• Successfully obtained dismissal on behalf of a client in an alleged negligence case.

eDiscovery

• Represents clients on all aspects of eDiscovery, including providing strategic advice, ensuring data preservation, conducting initial assessments of data issues in new litigation, selecting and retaining eDiscovery vendors, negotiating with opposing counsel regarding the collection and production of electronically stored information, and advocating in courts in discovery disputes.
