Litigation Support

We bring the litigation support services typically provided by a vendor in-house to provide high-quality services at a lower cost to our clients.

UB Greensfelder provides clients with litigation support services, supported by a highly trained and certified team of professionals while taking advantage of the latest technological advances to efficiently handle clients’ matters.

Who We Are

UB Greensfelder’s litigation support team is overseen by a lawyer, who has in-depth legal and technical knowledge related to issues that arise in eDiscovery, and includes a litigation support manager, case managers, analysts, and paralegals, all of whom work closely with eDiscovery counsel and lead counsel on every matter. To ensure we meet clients’ demands, we have strategic relationships with eDiscovery vendors, who can act as an extension of our in-house team if a large matter requires it, and we use market-leading review software Relativity One as our document review platform. Our flexible litigation support staffing and infrastructure allow us to effectively scale up for a large case at a moment’s notice.

Our litigation support professionals hold certifications that are typically found at eDiscovery vendors, not law firms. Many hold various Relativity certifications, are ACEDS-certified eDiscovery specialists, and one is even a Relativity Certified Master, meaning she holds multiple Relativity certifications. Our professionals are uniquely qualified to assess which review strategies are most appropriate for the needs of your case.

How We Help

Our litigation support team assists clients with data collection in non-forensic matters, processing client data, data hosting, review management, document production, and exhibit preparation. Our litigation support case managers and analysts are not passive participants who simply maintain a document database; they work directly with the legal team to manage reviews and are actively involved in helping the attorneys determine the best way to defensibly review and produce documents.

We use cutting-edge technology and custom review workflows to bring the most relevant information to the legal team as quickly as possible. We are constantly evaluating new technology like large language models and generative AI to determine whether it is desirable to supplement our current everyday tools and workflows that include:

  • Early case assessment
  • Technology-assisted review (TAR – a broad term that includes Predictive Coding and Active Learning)
  • Email threading
  • Conceptual analytics
  • Sentiment Detection
  • Communication Analysis
  • Text-based near duplicate identification
  • Metadata based duplicate identification
  • Cost-effective privilege logging

Why Clients Choose UB Greensfelder

Our carefully woven team of legal and technology professionals ensures that electronic evidence is handled defensibly and efficiently. Some of our recent successes for clients include:

  • Processed over four million documents and administered an assisted review project that allowed the legal team to produce 400,000 documents but only put eyes-on review of 117,000 documents, avoiding review of approximately 300,000 false search term hits – all within 40 days from collection to production to meet a court deadline. We estimate this saved the client approximately $1.5 million in review costs.
  • Saved a client $100,000 in review costs via our custom hashing approach to identifying documents already reviewed for privilege in another matter.
  • Used custom scripting to redact PII from Excel documents, saving hundreds of hours of manual review.
  • Used custom scripting to extract fields from a PDF form so that the fields could be filtered and searched, cutting down on attorney review time and saving the client money.
