Kelly A. Elmes

Associate

Kelly represents clients in a range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, contract review and drafting, and other business transactions.

Kelly served as a judicial extern to Chief Judge Nancy J. Rosenstengel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. She also gained in-house experience through legal internships with a telecommunications company and a health system, where she drafted and revised contracts and researched industry-specific legal and regulatory matters.

Prior to law school, Kelly supported public officials in legislative settings, serving as a senior legislative assistant to Wisconsin State Representative Mark Born and a legislative assistant to Wisconsin State Representative Warren Petryk. Her work included legislative drafting, research, hearing preparation, and constituent communications. Through Representative Born’s role as co-chair of the Joint Committee on Finance, Kelly also gained firsthand insight into Wisconsin’s budget-writing process.

While attending Washington University School of Law, Kelly was a member of the Law & Business Society, Women’s Law Caucus, and the Sports & Entertainment Law Society. She served as a legal practice teaching assistant and staff editor of Washington University Law Review and was a recipient of the Scholar in Law Award. Kelly earned her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin.

Outside of work, Kelly enjoys volunteering with Stray Rescue of St. Louis and reading.
