UB Greensfelder LLP has once again earned the illustrious honor of being named Benchmark Litigation’s “Ohio Firm of the Year” for 2024 – the eighth consecutive year it has earned the award. In recognition of its formidable litigation practice, UB Greensfelder was praised for its strategic counsel and innovative client advocacy.

The renowned Benchmark Litigation awards are among the most prominent and well-respected industry recognitions. Each year, Benchmark recognizes the country’s most distinguished litigators and their firms for exemplary work over the past twelve months. After extensive months-long research, the Benchmark team highlights the most impactful cases, the lawyers and firms behind them, and the litigators who have shaped the practice.

Among the individual award recipients was Michael N. Ungar, Partner and Chair of UB Greensfelder’s Litigation Department, who was inducted into Benchmark Litigation’s Hall of Fame. Each year, Benchmark Litigation names three litigators with “illustrious careers and considerable achievements” to its Hall of Fame, honoring these lawyers for their “unanimous market recognition and praise.” Joining Ungar in Benchmark Litigation’s 2024 Hall of Fame class was Brad S. Karp, Chairman of Paul, Weiss, and Daniel Slifkin, Partner at Cravath.

 

With a national litigation practice, Ungar represents clients in complex business disputes, focusing on commercial, banking, professional liability, securities, and broker-dealer matters. Not only is he a fierce advocate in arbitrations, class actions, and other types of complex litigation, but he also often serves as a mediator and arbitrator in business disputes. Jeffrey S. Dunlap, Vice Chair of UB Greensfelder’s Litigation Department, and Kevin F. Hormuth, Co-Group Leader of the firm’s Business Litigation Group, joined Ungar at Benchmark’s U.S. East Coast Awards Ceremony on March 13, 2024 in New York City to accept the award on the firm’s behalf. Several hundred of the nation’s leading litigators and their firms attended the ceremony to celebrate the work of the nation’s top litigators’ work over the past year.
